Albany recovery center opens for people battling addiction – Times Union

It wasn’t easy for Barry Levine to find a home for the Capital District Recovery Center, a nonprofit he started in 2015 to help people in recovery from drug or alcohol addiction.

When he did find possible sites, he recalled getting quotes for above-market rents or, in the case of one building with multiple tenants, an owner who told him it would be hard to fill future vacancies if “you people are here.”
